Here, the importance of logotherapy, which helps us to find meaning in life, helps us to communicate in social work, e.g. existential loneliness and loss of purpose in life, is precisely important. The work is drawn up interdisciplinarily on the basis of professional literature, mapping the concept of middle age from the point of view of various authors, the field of change, decision-making and the meaning of the so-called transition period, when one finds oneself between something that one was and something that one will be. From a philosophical and psychological point of view, the work is focused on the search for the meaning of life. Attention is also given to basic concepts and theoretical approaches relating to the meaning of life, with the aspect placed on human goals, life values, motivation, the value of health, the value of love, happiness, life as a calling. The aim of the thesis is to map how the period and meaning of life for the middle-aged generation (described as the "midlife crisis") is perceived from the perspective of the disciplines of science.
